The Go Sun Smart Georgia (GSSG) study is a program designed to help outdoor workers in Georgia protect themselves from the sun. We want to see if it changes how employees take care of themselves while working outside. This program will be tested with some workplaces starting in May 2024 and others later in the year. The study involves training selected employees as sun safety coaches and providing educational support to workers. Participants will also fill out surveys and join interviews to share their experiences.

  • Length of Study: Runs from May to December 2024, depending on group.
  • Participation: Includes training, surveys, and interviews.
  • Eligibility: Outdoor workers and managers who work at least 5 hours outside weekly and understand English.

This study aims to improve sun safety habits, which can lower health risks and save lives by reducing harmful sun exposure. The study does not include children, pregnant women, or individuals who cannot make decisions on their own. Participants will help us learn if the GSSG program is effective and beneficial for outdoor workers.
