Phase 3

This study aims to see if a drug called retatrutide can help lower the risk of serious heart problems or stop kidney function from getting worse. Retatrutide is given once a week. The study will last about 5 years, and participants will need to visit the clinic up to 27 times. To join, you must be an adult with a body weight that gives you a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 27 kg/m² or higher. You must also have either atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) or chronic kidney disease (CKD). ASCVD is a condition where arteries become narrow, increasing heart attack risk, while CKD is when kidneys don't work as well as they should. People who have certain conditions like Type 1 Diabetes, recent heart attacks, or kidney issues that are too severe are not eligible.

  • The study takes about 5 years with up to 27 clinic visits.
  • You might benefit from reduced risk of heart or kidney problems.
  • Participants must have a BMI of 27 or higher and specific heart or kidney conditions.
