Phase N/A

This study aims to help Black caregivers who look after people with dementia. Dementia is a condition that affects memory and thinking, like Alzheimer's disease. The course, Caregiving while Black - Learning In Vital Engagement (LIVE), will teach caregivers better ways to manage their caregiving roles, considering their unique life experiences and cultural backgrounds. Black caregivers often face challenges like less access to services and more caregiving hours compared to White caregivers. The study will involve groups of Black caregivers taking an 8-week self-paced course to see if it helps them. Caregivers must be 18 or older, identify as Black American, and have internet access.

  • Duration: 8-week self-paced course
  • Participants: 40 Black caregivers (10 per group)
  • Compensation: Not mentioned

This study does not include caregivers planning to stop caregiving soon, caregivers unable to give consent, or those who do not understand English well. The goal is to provide culturally relevant education to improve caregiving skills and reduce health disparities.
