Phase N/A

This study is about genetic testing for patients with certain types of cancer, specifically ovarian and endometrial cancer, at AU Health Medical Center. Genetic testing checks for changes in genes that might increase the risk of cancer. The study focuses on African American (AA) patients to see if they are less likely to accept genetic testing and how to overcome this. Around 30 people will join the study. Patients who have surgery will be asked to provide tumor and blood samples for testing. They will also answer questions about their understanding of genetic testing. The goal is to see if this approach is practical and to gather information about patients' attitudes towards early testing. The study will last about a year.

  • Study will take approximately one year to complete.
  • Participants will provide tumor and blood samples for testing.
  • Questionnaires will be used to understand attitudes towards genetic testing.
