This study aims to discover how well a treatment called **finerenone** works for people with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and type 1 diabetes. CKD is when the kidneys slowly lose their ability to work properly. In type 1 diabetes, the body doesn't produce enough insulin, causing high blood sugar which can damage kidneys. Finerenone blocks certain proteins that might harm the kidneys and heart, potentially slowing down kidney disease.
Participants will be given either finerenone or a placebo (a pill with no medicine) alongside their regular treatment. Researchers will check the urine for a protein called albumin to see if finerenone is effective. Safety will also be monitored by counting any side effects, serious issues, and high potassium levels in the blood.
- Participants are involved for up to 7.5 months, with 6 months of treatment.
- There will be at least 6 visits to the study site for tests like blood and urine samples, heart checks, and physical exams.
- Safety checks include monitoring vital signs and checking for pregnancy in women who can have children.
