Ferric Citrate and Chronic Kidney Disease Study
We are studying children with chronic kidney disease (CKD) to see if a medicine called ferric citrate (FC) can help. CKD is when kidneys don't work as well as they should. FC might help with levels of a substance called intact FGF23 (iFGF23), which is important for bone health. This study is double-blind, meaning neither the doctors nor the patients know who gets FC or a fake pill (placebo). We need kids aged 6-18 with CKD stages 3-4. The study lasts 12 months, and blood tests will be done several times to check safety and results.
- The study will last for 12 months with regular check-ups.
- Participants must be between 6-18 years old and have CKD stages 3-4.
- Participants should not have allergies to the study medicines or certain health conditions.
