Deep Neural Network Stratification for Use Detecting Endometriosis in Women Affected by Chronic Pelvic Pain (EndoCheck)

A trial using AI to help detect endometriosis in women.

Phase N/A

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining inside the uterus grows outside it, causing pain. This study, called EndoCheck, is about testing a special computer program that helps doctors find out if a woman with chronic pelvic pain has endometriosis. The computer program looks at proteins in the body to give its results. Doctors will see how good this test is by comparing it to a surgery called laparoscopy, where they look inside the belly to find endometriosis.

Women aged 14 to 50 who are planning to have this surgery can join the study. They can't join if they are pregnant, have certain infections, or have been in another study recently. The study wants to make sure the test spots endometriosis correctly at least 94% of the time and doesn't confuse it with something else at least 79% of the time.

  • Study is observational, so no new treatment given.
  • Must undergo surgery for pelvic pain to participate.
  • Participants must be females aged 14-50.

Learn more about clinical trials

What is a clinical trial?

A clinical trial is a study designed to test specific interventions or treatments' effectiveness and safety, paving the way for new, innovative healthcare solutions.

Why should I take part in a clinical trial?

Participating in a clinical trial provides early access to potentially effective treatments and directly contributes to the healthcare advancements that benefit us all.

How long does a clinical trial take place?

The duration of clinical trials varies. Some trials last weeks, some years, depending on the phase and intention of the trial.

Do I get compensated for taking part in clinical trials?

Compensation varies per trial. Some offer payment or reimbursement for time and travel, while others may not.

How safe are clinical trials?

Clinical trials follow strict ethical guidelines and protocols to safeguard participants' health. They are closely monitored and safety reviewed regularly.
