This study looks at how chaplains (people who provide spiritual support) can help patients during their stem cell transplantation. Stem cells are special cells that can grow into different kinds of cells in the body. Patients will either have special meditation sessions led by chaplains or get regular chaplain visits. Meditation helps people feel calm and aware of their emotions. The study wants to see if meditation makes patients feel better about their spiritual care. Patients will have 30-minute meditation sessions twice a week for two weeks. After that, they'll be checked again in about three months and six months later. The study is for patients over 18 who are getting ready for a stem cell transplant, can speak and read English, and aren't too sick to participate. Chaplains must be from Emory Healthcare.
- Study lasts up to 6 months with follow-ups.
