Reflections was launched in Atlanta to help address a long-standing gap in clinical research: too many communities have been left out of the studies that shape future care.
What began as a response to underrepresentation in clinical research has grown into a collaborative, community-rooted effort shaped by partners across advocacy, research, industry, and local community life. Reflections was built to do more than raise awareness. It was built to help create lasting change.
Our Story
2023 | Initial Vision
Sanofi and Heartbeat Clinical Research established Reflections to help address the long-standing underrepresentation of many communities in clinical research.
January 2024 | Formation of the Collective
Drawing on the PALADIN Consortium framework, Reflections opened its model to pharmaceutical companies, patient advocacy groups, clinical research sites, and community organizations. Together, they formed the Collective.
October 2024 | Community Launch
Reflections launched publicly in Atlanta with its co-created art exhibition and community health event at Wild Leap.
2025 | Expanded Focus
Throughout the year, the art exhibition moved to multiple locations across Atlanta, helping draw attention to the importance of representation in research. At the same time, shared workstreams focused on systemic barriers and long-term community engagement.
December 2025 | Donation of the Art Exhibition
In December, the art exhibition created in partnership with local artists was donated back to the Atlanta community and took up permanent residence at Pullman Yards.
2026 | Ongoing Community Engagement
Today, Reflections is a collective of 20+ organizations across advocacy, research, healthcare, and community leadership, continuing to work together to build trust, expand access, and support long-term community engagement.
